Ovum Recordings proudly announces the release of “607 Sessions” by pioneering electronic artist Josh Wink, arriving July 11, 2025. This inaugural release in a new archival series delves deeply into Wink’s prolific early bedroom studio output, presenting two previously unreleased versions of the long-mythologized track, “Realize.”

Named after the address of the now-legendary studio where they were created, 607 Sessions spans back to 1993–1995, a defining period in Josh Wink’s lengthy career. These years marked Wink's rapid ascent as one of the leading figures of the global acid house and techno scenes, with seminal releases like “Higher State of Consciousness”, “Don't Laugh”, “Meditation will manifest” and the cult favorite (first ovum release) “Liquid Summer” cementing his place in dance music history.

“Realize” is one of those mythic tracks that lived on in whispers, on bootleg mixed tapes, and in DJ memories, being played by Wink on acetate at raves, warehouses, festivals, and vogue clubs during the scene's formative years.  Thought to be lost for decades after a catastrophic hard drive failure, it was recently rediscovered on a forgotten DAT tape during a storage unit clean-out. Now, recently remastered and tested among a trusted circle of DJs, the response was electric — this wasn’t just nostalgia, it was timeless energy ready to reenter the dancefloor.

Josh Wink reflects: "Rediscovering music I composed in the early 1990s feels like unearthing a time capsule from a distant version of myself, who was experimental and endlessly curious. Believing that these tracks (recorded directly onto DAT tape) have miraculously resurfaced with a striking sense of now, as if they were made for this moment, set by a time machine. Back then, I was immersed in the world of hardware instruments, shaping sound through different mindsets and gadgets, constantly pushing boundaries of what these tools could convey. Hearing it again, after all these years, I’m amazed by how alive and relevant they still sound—raw, textured, and unconcerned with trends. It reminds me that honest experimentation can create something timeless.”

The 607 Sessions series is more than a nostalgic look back — it’s a living document of a crucial moment in underground electronic music, now freshly mastered for a new generation of listeners and longtime fans alike.

The release of 607 Sessions also coincides with a significant career milestone, as 2025 marks the 30th anniversaries of Josh Wink’s iconic tracks “Don’t Laugh” (as Winx), “I’m Ready,” and the acid rave classic “Higher State of Consciousness.” Each of these records helped define the sound of an era, propelling Josh to international acclaim and influencing generations of electronic producers and DJs. The timing of this archival series underscores both his legacy and his continued relevance in today’s scene.
